A managed tropical forest reserve about half an hour from Kumasi on the Accra road, and the only butterfly sanctuary in West Africa, with more than 400 species recorded inside it.
The local tip
The butterflies are most active in the first two hours after opening and after rain. Go early, wear closed shoes, and take the canopy tower rather than only the forest floor.
