Build a Ghana photo day around scenery

Choose one landscape and one light window for a photography outing, with realistic expectations and space for companions who are not shooting.

Choose one visual subject

A photography day is easier to plan when you choose one subject: a waterfall, a stretch of coast, a garden or architecture. Each asks for a different pace and equipment. Trying to collect all four can leave you travelling during the time you hoped to spend looking.

Use a place photograph as a reference for the subject, not a promise of identical weather or access.

Plan for the non-photographers

If friends join, explain how long you expect to stay in one spot. Give them a comfortable alternative instead of assuming everyone enjoys waiting for a frame. Agree on a meeting time and keep shared equipment out of walkways.

At Wli Waterfalls, for example, ask about the current route and conditions before deciding what gear to carry.

Separate public scenery from private activity

A landscape can include people working, living or worshipping. Ask before making them the subject of your photograph. Confirm any restrictions on tripods, drones or commercial shoots through the relevant authority or venue.

Leave with fewer images if conditions are poor. You can still note a composition for another visit. Don't let the desire to reproduce a photo override a guide's instructions or another person's privacy.
